Formed in London in 1987, The Chemistry Set consisted of Ashley Wood, Guitars, Vocals. Paul Lake, Lead Guitar and Vocals. David Mclean, Drums,Vocals. Henry Taprell, BassThey played regularly in England and live were a cross between The Misunderstood, Pink Floyd 67-68 and Jimi Hendrix
On record it was more subtle and they championed Psych-pop with influences from The Byrds, Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield with Power Pop and a slice of English Whimsy
They soon became known in the European Psych/alternative market and their first releases were Flexi discs with Magazines/Fanzines
