4th album for SG by Bavarian folk/psych/space/improv duo. Their trademark ISB-inspired folk is still there, but this time influences of the 70's Krautfolk school are more present. On board the imaginary "Friendship" Fit&Limo are accompanied by kindred spirits: Bernd Witthüser, Miriam Goldberg & Jeffrey Alexander (Black Forest/Black Sea, Iditarod), Timothy Renner (Stone Breath, Spectral Light, Mourning Cloak), Steffi & Peter Wolf. The collaboration with Bernd Witthüser, one half of German 70's cosmic folk duo Witthüser Westrup, almost marks a historic event, documented by a new version of "Lasst uns auf die Reise gehn": the old Krautfolk school meets the folk adepts of the 21st century. The songs recorded with Miriam & Jeffrey veer towards psychedelic/mystic free folk and create a meditative, pastoral atmosphere. The collaboration with Timothy results in two fine tracks of gothic chamber folk.

3rd album for September Gurls by Bavarian folk/ psych/space/improv duo. At the same time this is their first concept album. They start out with the playful exotic acid folk style they have come to known for, but it is more electric and enriched with pop harmonies. Then songs expand into cosmic folk and progressive artful space sounds, Incorporating Stefan Lienemann´s experience with his solo project Discolor. Finally Fit&Limo light out for a new territory. The 21-minutes hypnotic and mesmerizing opus magnus Upper And Lower Ginnistan, a free improvisation session exploring boundaries of their Sun Ra influences and 70 ts Kraurock Improvisation, marks a new phase of development and reaches places where space and time, ideology end religion are no longer relevant. Ginnistan is a magic and phantastic dreamland. Fit & Limo found their Ginnistan in Monte Verita, Switzerland, a place where anarchists, poets, artists, freethinkers lived in the 19th century and later on gathering place of hippies in the 70's.

Here they play more folk music and use a wide range of accoustic instruments. I like their songs for several voices. Their folky interpretation of Dark Star is just great! Here you feel, that their root go way back to the 60s Westcoast psychedelic rock. There are also german titles like Dreamdoor (Traumtür) which reveal their tendencies to complex dreamy aural fairy tales. Betti
sitar flecked, magic mushroom autumnal folk bliss for opium evenings under the stars. mystically inclined undertows with a pagan twist and a psychedelic flourish, this is timeless, harking back to i.s.b./pearls before swine territory but with a contemporary sheen. nice for late night smokin'. ivan

3 years after Fit & Limo's last real album ("Autre Monde") the public is permitted another earful of their sound alchemy. Numerous well-known and strange instruments (new ones like church organ, Veeh harp and xylophone complement the usual F&L suspects such as violin, autoharp, sitar, mandolin, glockenspiel, piano, clay drums, bongos etc) pair up with nursery rhymes and cryptic messages. Beyond the "Traumtür" lies a medieval fairytale world of cranes and toads, basilisks and lions, spirals and stones, dew and cauldrons. A labyrinth of sounds, noises and harmonies unfolds. Fit & Limo playfully celebrate their unique mystic folk- incorporating elements of American acid/Middle Eastern/Celtic/British (Incredible String Band, Caedmon) folk- on the way to the 3rd millennium. Beside 12 originals "The Serpent Unrolled" contains 2 cover versions: Grateful Dead's "Dark Star" and "Images of April" by Tom Rapp/Pearls Before Swine.
