As I'm by no means an expert on this band, but I think "Northern Gothic" is a great improvement on "This is where we disappear" as for the quality of the songs. Often a folksy feeling to the tracks on here, this is a CD of very high quality. Highly recommended. Grindelwald Gus

The most compact and consistent release since '98's "All clues lead to Megan's bed" by Seattle's psych pop workaholics. Contains their darkest & most atmospheric recordings to date, a sufficient dose of Jeff kelly's psychedelic guitar work and a thematic integrity that rescues the ideas of the concept album. The 16th album by Seattle's finest in Beatles-que psych pop. Combines all the elements one expects from them. Beautiful harmonies, fine instrumental work and melodic songs. Buy record at ( CD 16.00 EUR) Greatest Hits Mailorder (D) change

"Narcotic Kisses" is the latest addition in the rapidly
expanding Green Pajamas catalogue. But this is not a new album in thetypical sense, rather an odds and ends type of compilation. The banddidn't want to release these tracks from the vault, various compilationsand limited 7"s with any fanfare, so Camera Obscura took the opportunityto do a gorgeous 220g audiophile vinyl pressing limited to only 300copies. And as far as these kinds of collections go, it's a pretty damncompelling one.The opening "I've Got A Crush On You" is a re-recording of oneof the first Green Pajamas songs ever recorded, done some time in theearly 80s. And it's easy to hear that these people got their talent forwriting beautifully crafted love epics with folky elements early on. Ofall tracks I think "These Are The

In 1984 Jeff Kelly and Joe Ross recorded a mess of songs on a 4-track reel-to-reel. They released it locally as a cassette, Summer of Lust. If you hear the Pajamas referred to as psyche-anything it springs from here. In 1989, Greg Shaw from Bomp started Ubik records in the UK and released it on vinyl to underground acclaim. Remastered by Tom Dyer and Joe Ross, Summer of Lust shows Kelly and Ross at the stepping off point for over twenty-five albums to come. First 500 copies limited edition numbered and initialed by artists. New video for I Feel That Way All The Time made from vintage footage.
